Description
Teratology has traditionally been defined as the study of malformation in the embryo or fetus caused by in utero exposure to foreign agents. However, with the advent of recent drugs, gross overt anomaly is rarely seen but the subtle changes induced by the drug in the brain can cause behavioral changes in late childhood and adult age. The author reviewed some centrally acting drugs given to pregnant rodents in the period of organogenesis and later their offspring’s were subjected to behavioral tests to observe any changes.
