Khadabadi<\/p>\n<div>The \u00a0family \u00a0Cucurbitaceae \u00a0includes \u00a0a \u00a0large \u00a0group \u00a0of \u00a0plants \u00a0which \u00a0are \u00a0medicinally valuable. \u00a0It \u00a0is \u00a0a \u00a0family \u00a0of \u00a0about \u00a0130 \u00a0genera \u00a0and \u00a0about \u00a0800 \u00a0species. \u00a0Seeds \u00a0or \u00a0fruit parts \u00a0of \u00a0some \u00a0cucurbits \u00a0are \u00a0reported \u00a0to \u00a0possess \u00a0purgatives, \u00a0emetics \u00a0and \u00a0 antihelmintics properties \u00a0due \u00a0to \u00a0the \u00a0secondary \u00a0metabolite \u00a0cucurbitacin \u00a0content. \u00a0A \u00a0number \u00a0of compounds \u00a0of \u00a0this \u00a0group \u00a0have \u00a0been \u00a0<span class=\"cm_word\" style=\"border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important\">investigated<\/span> \u00a0for \u00a0their \u00a0cytotoxic, \u00a0hepatoprotective, anti-inflammatory \u00a0and \u00a0cardiovascular \u00a0effects. \u00a0Cucurbitacins \u00a0constitute \u00a0a \u00a0group \u00a0of diverse \u00a0triterpenoid \u00a0<span class=\"cm_word\" style=\"border-bottom: 1px solid #0000FF !important;text-decoration:underline !important;color:#0000FF !important\">substances<\/span> \u00a0which \u00a0are \u00a0well \u00a0known \u00a0for \u00a0their \u00a0bitterness \u00a0and \u00a0toxicity.
