On the African continent, diarrhea cause more child deaths than Malaria, HIV\/AIDS, and measles. <b><o_p><\/o_p><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom:6.0pt;text-align:justify\"><b><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;font-family:\"Calibri\",\"sans-serif\";mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri\">Objective<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;font-family:\"Calibri\",\"sans-serif\"; mso-fareast-font-family:Calibri;mso-bidi-font-weight:bold\">: the aim of this study was to assess the prevalence of diarrhea and its associated factors among children under-five years of age in Enderta woreda, Tigray, Ethiopia.<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom:6.0pt;text-align:justify\"><b><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;font-family:\"Calibri\",\"sans-serif\";mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri\">Methods<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;font-family:\"Calibri\",\"sans-serif\"; mso-fareast-font-family:Calibri;mso-bidi-font-weight:bold\">: Community based cross-sectional study was used among 295 mothers or care givers of children in Enderta woreda, seven <\/span><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;font-family:\"Calibri\",\"sans-serif\"; mso-fareast-font-family:Calibri\">tabia\/sub-districts and study participants were selected using systematic random sampling technique by considering proportional to size allocation. Data was entered and cleaned using SPSS version 20. A binary logistic regression with 95% CI was used to see the association between the dependent and independent variables. Finally the results were presented by figure, table and text.<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom:6.0pt;text-align:justify\"><b><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;font-family: \"Calibri\",\"sans-serif\";mso-fareast-font-family:Calibri\">Result: <\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;font-family:\"Calibri\",\"sans-serif\";mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri\">A total of 295 mothers were participated in the study with a response rate of 278(94.23%). <b>\u00a0<\/b>From 278 participants, 150(54%) child\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s had acute diarrhea. only family income and current breast feeding status of the child were significantly associated with diarrhea (<\/span><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;font-family:\"Calibri\",\"sans-serif\"\">AOR at 95% CI, 0.59(0.21-1.65) and (AOR at 95% CI, 0.36(0.16- 0.80) respectively.<\/span><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;font-family:\"Calibri\",\"sans-serif\";mso-fareast-font-family: \"Gill Sans MT\";mso-bidi-font-weight:bold\"> <\/span><b><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;font-family:\"Calibri\",\"sans-serif\"; mso-fareast-font-family:Calibri\"><o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom:6.0pt;text-align:justify;mso-layout-grid-align: none;text-autospace:none\"><b><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;font-family:\"Calibri\",\"sans-serif\";mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri\">Conclusion: <\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;font-family:\"Calibri\",\"sans-serif\"; mso-fareast-font-family:Calibri\">in this study, prevalence of diarrhea among under- five children was 35.6%.
