Decreased hamstring flexibility is considered to be a predisposing factor for lower back pain and injury. The <\/span><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"font-size:10.0pt;mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri;mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;mso-bidi-font-family:Calibri\">purpose of the study was to see the immediate effect of a single session of self-myofascial release on plantar aspect of foot, on hamstring and lumbar spine flexibility.<b><o_p><\/o_p><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"capslock\" style=\"margin-bottom: 6pt; text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"font-size:10.0pt;font-family:\"Calibri\",\"sans-serif\"\">Methodology: <\/span><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\">A Quasi experimental study was conducted on 30 subjects who were randomly allocated into 2 groups. Group A-self-myofascial release was given. Group B was a control group (no therapy).Baseline and post flexibility was assessed by sit-and-reach test (SRT) and Active Knee Extension (AKE) test.<o_p><\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 6pt; text-align: justify;\"><b><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"font-size:10.0pt;mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri;mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;mso-bidi-font-family:Calibri\">Results: <\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"font-size:10.0pt;mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri;mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;mso-bidi-font-family:Calibri;color:#252525\">Within group analysis in group A <\/span><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri;mso-bidi-font-family:Calibri;mso-ansi-language: EN-US\">showed significant difference in both AKE (right and left) scores and sit and reach scores <\/span><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"font-size:10.0pt; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri;mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri;mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri;color:#252525\">(p<0.05).Within group analysis for group B also\u00a0 showed significant difference in <\/span><span style=\"font-size:10.0pt;mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri;mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;mso-bidi-font-family:Calibri;mso-ansi-language:EN-US\">AKE (right and left) scores and sit and reach scores<\/span><span lang=\"EN-IN\" style=\"font-size: 10.0pt;mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri;mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri;mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri;color:#252525\">(p<0.05).
