The ligand was characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR, ESI Mass studies while the complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, IR, electronic and EPR spectral studies. The molar conductance values of the complexes indicate the non-electrolyte nature \u00a0and the complexes may be formulated as \u00a0[ M(L)X2], where M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and X= \u00a0Cl- \u00a0and NO3-. On the basis of spectral studies, an octahedral geometry has been assigned for the Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes, whereas tetragonal \u00a0geometry was found for Cu(II) complexes.
