The topic of the thesis is Clinical Study on First Episode of Unprovoked Seizures in Children of Age 1 Month to 15 Years in a Tertiary Care Centre . The dissertation (DNB in Pediatrics) was done by Dr. Asha Prabhakaran. S, under the supervision of Dr. Cherian Joseph, HOD, Department of Pediatrics and Dr. Jomel Mathew, Department of Neurology, Little flower Hospital, Angamaly, Kerala, India. The objective of this dissertation was to study the clinical and etiological factors associated with first episode of unprovoked seizures in children of the age group one month to 15 years in a tertiary hospital setting. Also to analyze the outcome of the same patients during a 3 month follow up period to find out the clinical parameters, etiological factors and investigations helping to predict the outcome and most appropriate management. This was a prospective, observational, analytical study. The duration of the study was 15 months from September 1, 2016 to November 30, 2017. Study area was Little Flower Hospital, Angamaly, a major private hospital and tertiary care centre in central Kerala, India, situated 32 km to the north of Ernakulam
